Objectives

1. Discuss the burden of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) and the future impact on medicine
2. Review "Precision Medicine" as a model for disease management
3. Identify DKD as an ideal target for Precision Medicine intervention

4. Review recent advances in T2 diabetes management and the impact on DKD

5. Discuss newer classes of medications for the treatment of T2 diabetes and future role in managing DKD

6. Describe the roles of the members of the health care team in their respective responsibilities for quality care
