Objectives

1. Discuss the history of health services research and discuss landmark studies that have influenced the field.
2. Describe how HSR methods may be applied to answer questions about treatment effectiveness, variation in care, and impact of national and local health policy.
3. Discuss the principles of implementation science, and learn how to apply implementation science to identify effective strategies for translating evidence into practice.
4. Describe how methods of HSR can be applied to both identify and address health care disparities in local and national populations.
