This 2-hour interactive event-- a collaboration between the BERST (Baystate Health, Springfield, MA) and BIDMC (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, MA) Academy leaders  -- invites you “back to school” to  explore concrete methods for creating a safe working environment by examining another place where doing so is a priority: the K-12 classroom. Drawing on this literature and our own experiences,  participants will discuss where we may already be unconsciously using these tools to create community at our institutions and where we can do so more deliberately. Focusing on rituals, routines, and procedures, you will learn what they are and how they contribute to creating (and undermining!) a safe learning and work environment.
