TF-CBT has been demonstrated to be the most successful child therapy in helping children recover from trauma and has been used extensively with children with mental health symptoms stemming from trauma exposure and those with complex trauma. TF-CBT is the most widely tested trauma- focused model with a current total of 23 randomized controlled trials. Clinical nuances are considered when implementing this model and TF-CBT has been specifically adapted for use with youth impacted by complex trauma, caregiver substance misuse/impaired caregiving, and adaptations for working with young children, ages 3-5. This training will provide advanced practice and didactic in these three core areas.  Advanced Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy training is meant to provide special topics for clinical training in the model to support complex trauma work.
