Objectives
Review lipoprotein metabolism and disorders, including recent data on the prevalence of familial hypercholesterolemia (FH).
Characterize mechanisms of action of standard cholesterol-lowering therapy and efficacy in FH.
Describe “experiments” of nature which have led to new therapeutic agents.
Review the clinical efficacy of these novel drugs, including expert consensus on their use
