Disaster Day 2022
This full day course will expose nurses, resident physicians and first responders to the complexity of disaster management in a multidisciplinary format by participating in multiple activities : Recognition of MCI ( Mass Casualty Incident), Management of MCI, Incident Command Structure, Disaster Triage, Management of hemorrhage, Pediatrics in disasters, Active Shooter Capabilities/ MERT, Burn Management and Chest Injury Management. The training will provide best practices and include a Mass Casualty Simulation in Disaster Preparedness.

Target Audience
This course is designed for nurses, paramedics, EMTs, and physician residents.
Learning Objectives
1. Recognize MCI and activate MCI plan.
2. Clearly designate roles of those first to arrive (ie:) communications, triage, logistics, mutual aid, command staff, medical direction.
3. Accurately triage and deliver care to patients.
4. Deliver care appropriate and following best practices for their given condition while keeping in mind available resources.
5. Decide best transport options and destination decision.
