Excellence in trauma nursing contributes to optimal patient outcomes and the prevention of complications. This course aims to provide RNs with evidenced-based core knowledge, assessments, and psychomotor skills in managing injured trauma patients. The education reinforces a systematic and standardized approach integrated into its system to trauma teamwork, communication, and collaboration. The course will encourage and empower the nurse to apply knowledge, critical thinking skills, and hands-on training to provide expert care for trauma.

Learning Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1|Perform a primary and secondary assessment of a traumatically injured patient.
2|Document primary and secondary assessment findings appropriately.
3|Identify life-threatening injuries.
4|Perform appropriate interventions for life-threatening injuries.
5|Describe evidence-based interventions to improve the delivery of care to trauma patients.
