Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1) Apply OPTN/UNOS policies and evidence-based national guidelines consistently to the evaluation and selection of kidney transplant candidates.
2) Integrate multidisciplinary clinical, psychosocial, pharmacologic, and ethical perspectives to perform standardized risk stratification for complex transplant candidates.
3) Implement structured documentation and decision-making strategies that support transparency, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement in transplant selection.
4) Utilize program-level outcomes and quality data to inform candidate selection decisions and identify opportunities for practice improvement.
5) Collaborate effectively as a multidisciplinary healthcare team by engaging in structured case-based discussion, shared decision-making, and clear communication to improve consistency of practice and patient and graft outcomes.
