2025 Trauma Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy: The Basics - June 2-4, 2025
Overview
Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT): The Basics will provide attendees with the tools needed to be able to engage clients in this evidenced-based therapy. The components of TF-CBT will be discussed at length and case studies will be used to further explain how the model works with youth and families and how to address common barriers and issues that arise.

This course is designed for Psychologists, Social Workers, and Mental Health Counselors.
Learning Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
- Identify the PRACTICE components of TF-CBT.
- Describe how to use psychoeducation tools in TF-CBT.
- Demonstrate cognitive coping strategies to change an unhelpful thought.
- Share creative strategies for completing trauma narration with clients.
- Identify when to incorporate safety skills within the model.
- Communicate why caregiver participation and conjoint sessions within the model are important.
- Identify one self-care practice to help mitigate vicarious traumatization.
