Learning Objectives
- Understand outpatient operating room scheduling and management principles.
- Understand specific strategies used at Baystate Orthopedic Surgery Center to provide high quality of care with efficiency.
- Understand update on strategies for Patient Blood Management.
- Understand approach to Anemia and administration of blood component therapy.
- Understand the difference between balanced IV solutions and normal saline.
- Understand the acid base consequences of IV normal saline.
- Discuss the pathophysiology of lung injury.
- Discuss the evidence of Lung Protective Ventilation strategy in the OR.
