Learning Objectives

 

  • Understand outpatient operating room scheduling and management principles.
  • Understand specific strategies used at Baystate Orthopedic Surgery Center to provide high quality of care with efficiency.
  • Understand update on strategies for Patient Blood Management.
  • Understand approach to Anemia and administration of blood component therapy.
  • Understand the difference between balanced IV solutions and normal saline.
  • Understand the acid base consequences of IV normal saline.
  • Discuss the pathophysiology of lung injury.
  • Discuss the evidence of Lung Protective Ventilation strategy in the OR.
