Target Audience
This program is designed for cardiologists, hospitalists, primary care physicians, physician assistants, emergency medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and cardiovascular technologist.
Learning Objectives
- Appreciate new conceptual, technical and drug strategies that have led to improved early and late outcomes after Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
- Describe clinical rationales for the adoption of new concepts for Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
- Understand the natural behavior of the Thoracic Aorta and evidence based criteria for surgical intervention
- Define the genetics of Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms and understand differences between ascending and descending aortic disease.
- Describe the drivers, facilitators and barriers for building and sustaining cardiovascular programs.
- Examine cardiovascular team members roles and impacts in program development and evaluation.
- Identify the concepts of device physiology.
- Describe common medical management decision making before/after device implantation.
- Define new technologies in Carotid Stenting
- Be familiar with the next steps in the Evolution of TCAR
- Clarify current methods and strategies to prevent sudden death in HCM.
- Understanding the role of advanced imaging in the diagnosis and management of HCM.
- Recognize indications for invasive septal reduction therapy to improve heart failure symptoms.
- Describe the production and clearance of LDL cholesterol.
- Name the most frequent cause of elevated TG levels and how to treat them.
- Discuss three lessons from recent lipid lowering trials.
