Goal:
The goal of this educational activity is to provide an opportunity for a multidisciplinary learning environment to update best practices on important cardiovascular topics in order to improve the armamentarium of all providers with evidence based, up to date guidelines on treating complex cardiovascular patients.

Target Audience
This course was designed for cardiologists, hospitalists, primary care physicians, physician assistants, emergency medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses.
Learning Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

- ECMO for Physiologically Difficult Airway
- Define the physiologically difficult airway both theoretically and clinically by providing clinical scenarios and patient populations at risk for having it.
- Explain why anesthetic induction and intubation with positive-pressure ventilation can be deleterious in patients with a physiologically difficult airway.
- Describe the role for pre-intubation ECMO in select patients with a physiologically difficult airway.
