Increase facility with the identification, assessment and management of postpartum hypertension with emphasis on evaluation, prescribing, and monitoring hypertensive medications.
Perform a vulvar exam with each pelvic exam, identify normal vulvar variants, and identify key signs of the most common vulvar dermatoses.

Understand the history of the role of midwifery and how medical authority overthrew midwifery in the US, leading to a different structure many other high resources countries.

Distinguish between “medically managed midwifery” and the power of traditionally based midwifery.

Recognize the medical management colonizing birth care and the consequence of this management in increasing rather than decreasing infant and maternal morbidity and mortality.

Identify three strategies for giving effective feedback and practice these with opportunity for refection and critique.
Equip preceptors with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively integrate trauma-informed practices when working with healthcare learners to foster a supportive and empowering learning environment.
Share insights and learning from the Coalition to Save the North Shore Birth Center and how this can inform existing practices to advance the future of midwifery.
Leverage the roles of communication, community engagement and public affairs to further midwifery.
