Title: Parenting During Covid-19
The COVID-19 pandemic has presented unique challenges for children, teens, parents and families. This workshop is designed to help parents and caregivers to improve their skills for supporting their children and teens through these challenging times. Parents can implement specific skills and strategies to support their children’s coping and resilience through these challenging times. This workshop will walk parents through understanding their child’s response to the pandemic, and recognizing the signs of stress in children of all ages. Parents will be taught ways to talk with children and teens about the pandemic, and pandemic related-stressors and will also be given concrete strategies to improve coping and resilience within their family.
Goal: The goal of this educational program is to provide Baystate team members with practical skills to support them in their roles as parents and family members in the context of the pandemic.
Title: Pandemic Resilience for Families
The COVID-19 pandemic has presented unique challenges for children, teens, parents and families. This workshop is designed for families with children ages 10-18 years old (younger/older children are welcome to join, at parent discretion). This workshop is designed to be viewed by children and teens with their parent/caregiver. Families and children are impacted in numerous ways by the current pandemic. This workshop reviews: signs of psychological distress, ways to identify and build resilience, techniques for relieving stress, and additional resources and supports available to Baystate employees and their families.
Goal: The goal of this educational program is to provide Baystate team members and the children and teens in their families with a better understanding of how they are impacted by the pandemic, and practical strategies to increase family resilience.
Target Audience
In support of improving patient care, Baystate Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. |
