The COVID-19 pandemic has presented unique challenges for children, teens, parents and families. This workshop is designed to help parents and caregivers to improve their skills for supporting their children and teens through these challenging times. Parents can implement specific skills and strategies to support their children’s coping and resilience through these challenging times. This workshop will walk parents through understanding their child’s response to the pandemic, and recognizing the signs of stress in children of all ages. Parents will be taught ways to talk with children and teens about the pandemic, and pandemic related-stressors and will also be given concrete strategies to improve coping and resilience within their family.
Goal: The goal of this educational program is to provide Baystate team members with practical skills to support them in their roles as parents and family members in the context of the pandemic.
