Goal:
The goal of this educational activity is to support safe, effective, patient-focused care for the patients with endocrine disorders.

Target Audience
This course is designed for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and certified diabetes educators.
Learning Objectives
- Develop rational treatment algorithms for the patient with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
- Identify the cardiovascular advantages and disadvantages to glucose lowering medications.
- Review the key findings of recent cardiovascular outcomes trials involving glucose lowering medications.
- Describe alternative thyroid therapies.
- Review testerone replacements in mean and women.
- Describe indications for bone density testing and for treatment in older men and women.
- Describe some of the newer mechanisms of action and efficacy of newer medical therapies to treat osteoporosis.
- Define the medical treatment options for pediatric morbid obesity.
- Describe the current status of pediatric morbid obesity as well as its comorbidities.
- Name the types of baratric surgery done in adolescents along with outcomes with respect to physical and mental health and wellbeing.
- Describe advantages and disadvantages of gastric bybass surgery.
- Discuss eligibility creiteria for insulin pump therapy.
- Review difference types of insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors.
- Review history of insulin pump therapy.
