Target Audience

This course is designed for gastroenterologists, GI nurses, GI techs, and other allied health care providers.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe when best to utilize ESD.
  • Describe the care for patients having ESD.
  • Differentiate NAFLD vs. NASH and their clinical implications.
  • Discuss the risk of developing liver cirrhosis.
  • Describe the management of NAFLD and NASH.
  • Describe the essentials of endoscopy in IBD and writing the report.
  • Review Endoscopic scores for IBD.
  • Describe techniques and intervals for surveillance for cancer/dysplasia in IBD.
  • Discuss and learn about important optical techniques to examine the mucosa.
  • Review the efficacy and side effects of ablation techniques.
  • Describe the benefits and limitations of mucosal resection for curing early stage esophageal cancer.
  • Review the normal anatomy, variants and pathophysiology of the biliary tree.
  • Discuss natural history and management of primary sclerosing cholangitis.
  • Discuss endoscopic management of cholangiocarcinoma.
