Target Audience
This course is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurses in primary care.
Learning Objectives
- Identify wounds that require offloading.
- Name and describe three mechanisms to properly offload a wound.
- Identify at least three types of wounds or non-wound diagnoses that are appropriate for HBOT.
- State three mechanisms of HBOT that assist with healing.
- Identify three types of wounds that are appropriate for a surgical closure
- Discuss when surgical closure is necessary.
- State four risk factors that can lead to venous disease in patients.
- Discuss the diagnostic tests that are required to determine that a patient has venous disease.
- Discuss the appropriate treatment plan for chronic venous disease.
- Name the different categories of wound dressings and the correct application and use of the dressings.
- Discuss the treatment plan and how it relates to our established clinical pathways to healing.
- Ask providers any unanswered questions related to wound care.
