Goal:

The goal of this educational activity is to support safe, effective, patient-focused care for the patients with endocrine disorders.

Target Audience

This course is designed for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistans and certified diabetes educators.

Learning Objectives

  • Develop rational treatment algorithms for the patient with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
  • Identify the cardiovascular advantages and disadvantages to glucose lowering medications.
  • Review the key findings of recent cardiovascular outcomes trials involving glucose lowering medications.
  • Describe alternative thyroid therapies.
