Goal:

The goal of this educational activity is to provide the most up-to-date pediatric trauma management.

Baystate Medical Center Pediatric Trauma, Division of Pediatric Surgery, Baystate Pediatric Emergency Department, and Baystate Continuing Interprofessional Education.

Target Audience

This program was designed to educate all medical professionals who care for children who have sustained an injury.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify ways to assess a pediatric trauma patient.
  2. Describe the red flags in the history that may be indicative of child abuse.
  3. Describe the steps to file a 51A
  4. Identify an integrated approach to the medical and nursing management of the pediatric trauma patient.
  5. Identify Identify an integrated approach to the medical and nursing management of the pediatric trauma patient through simulation.
