The goal of this educational activity is to support safe, effective, patient-focused timely, efficient, equitable, and compassionate care.

Target Audience
This course is designed for physicians, nurses, and others responsible for the medical care of adolescents.
Learning Objectives
- State current trends in use and risks of marijuana and vaping.
- State the basics of brief interventions for vaping that can be done in the office.
- Review the need for clinical algorithms for primary care pediatricians for appropriate training in mental health care and practice.
- Review the recently published MCPAP Clinical Algorithms to help with the evaluation and treatment for youth with significant anxiety and mood disorders.
- Understand how the presentation of ADHD differs in adolescents.
- Understand the strategies for improving the outcomes in adolescent ADHD.
- Describe the potential clinical presentations and differential diagnosis of adolescents with eating disorders.
- Describe the components of timely intervention and clinical assessment of an adolescent with a possible eating disorder.
- Learn about the prevalence of abdominal pain in children, pathophysiology, and its impact on quality of life.
- Learn the criteria for diagnosis of functional GI disorders & the role of medication and other treatment modalities.
