Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1. Describe the roles of the members of the healthcare team in their respective responsibilities for quality care.
2. Differentiate how the method and timing of communication impacts a potential research participants understanding and decision making.
3. Discuss the implication that personal values play in th decision to participate in a research study.
4. Summarize the influence of the amount and quality of information on a research participant's comprehension during an informed consent discussion.
