The Department of Medicine and Pediatrics supports the continuing education of our faculty, residents, students, staff, and guests with the presentation of educational lectures. The purpose is to present educational programs that address practice problems or provide updates on new developments in best practices. Racism occurs everywhere, including at Baystate Medical Center. Because of the significant impact of racism on trainees of color, it is imperative that we all learn skills to be able to identify and address racism when it occurs and support impacted team members. Some of us have experienced this racism directly as people of color; all of us have been bystanders who have witnessed racism. This curriculum is designed specifically to develop the skills necessary to facilitate bystander support when racism occurs.
